Foreign or Thai girlfriend/boyfriend and why do you think like that?

I would choose a foreign girlfriend if I have one.
I have experience Thai girlfriend, and I cannot fulfill my goals as a couple with them.
In term of attitude and expose oneself to social as gay is hard for Thai culture. They are stuck in Thai social's norm and it is hard for me to keep the relationship.
It would be good to have a family in country where LGBTQ+ is legal and acceptable. Therefore, I would choose to have foreign gf.

If I have one I would choose Thai boyfriend. I also have experience with Thai people as you but I still choose Thai.
In my opinion, Thai boyfriend is familiar with our cultural and more understand what is going on.
In contrast, Foreign might be not understand our life. Moreover, in term of communication with both family, it's seem difficult.

Fang, I am so impressed with your topic, and opinion regarding LGBT in Thailand. I totally agree with you.
However, I have an opinion that is slightly different from yours. At first, I would only date a foreign gay guy because I like a person who is more mature in both thinking, and appearance. Apart from that, I'd love how a person is used to a more developed and opened thoughts concerning LGBT so that I would not have to deal with other's opinion towards me and my boyfriend. I actually had a foreign boyfriend.
However, right now, I am more open-minded. Ethnicity does not really matter anymore. He could be either a foreign or Thai guy. Yet, I still am so single.

I think they are so different between two of them. For me, I would choose Thai boyfriend for the reasons are first, he understands about our culture and the religion. The distance is also important in the relationship. I know that someone doesn't care about this stuff but I think I care. Sometimes, you just need his warm hug when you feel down and he is always there beside you! This is what I have found from having a Thai one.

I used to date a Thai boyfriend many years ago.
Now I am in a relarionship with my American boyfriend who is way more Asian than me. Personally, I think loving someone is undescriable since it's more like respecting someone who has the same background but in different perspectives in life. You don't have to explain that much, but he or she does understand you. And you love that person unconditionally both mentally and phisically. The love that brings you out of your comfort zone and tells that you are not alone in the universe. Both partner help each other grow better and stronger.

It depends on what you like. There is no advantage if you choose Thai bf/gf. It’s just all about taste. But for me, I would say foreign bf because I’m also in a relationship with someone from the Netherlands now lol. Well, as I say, you can choose to be with whoever you want. By the way, I really hate things that people say about having a relationship with foreigners. I heard some people said oh because they are rich and I was like WAIT WHAT?
