I have once used English to teach Science in the unit of living things and life processes under the topic "Plant Propagation". This was planned according to the teaching approach of CLIL, or commonly known as Content and Language Integrated Learning. At that time of my teaching, I felt very satisfied with what I had done. By so doing, students can best learn through the interesting science content.

The basis of CLIL is that content subjects are taught and learnt in a language which is not the mother tongue of the learners. The way CLIL and CBI work:
- Knowledge of the language becomes the means of learning content
- Language is integrated into the broad curriculum
- Learning is improved through increased motivation and the study of natural language seen in context. When learners are interested in a topic they are motivated to acquire language to communicate

I'm pretty sure that everyone has ever taught by using "CLIL project" on junior.
I'm the one who through that situation before. At first, I struggle with this project.
I didn't familiar with other content. I integrated English with Science subject about the electric circuit.
This content is quite hard for me. I don't know much about the circuit. I did it my best.
It is amazing to teach English through another subject.

I have used English to teach another subject which is Science subject within the Basic and Acidic topic. And I sure that all of 3rd grade and 4th grade English major students have ever used English to teach another subject. Because we all have to teach it in the CLIL lesson plan on a TEFL course. It was hard for me, but I really like it.
