What's your best poem of all time?
To me, I don't tell my story to my friends that much. Only a few know my background, for all the lives and souls that I have touched.
Dear all my fine fellows those who are still struggle on the lives you can't change. I hope you'll be fine.
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.
Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
’Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.
Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.
Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops,
Weakened by my soulful cries?
Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
’Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own backyard.
You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.
Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?
Out of the huts of history’s shame
I rise
Up from a past that’s rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.

For me one of the peon that I really since I was young and can remember
it is Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star BY JANE TAYLOR.
Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
How I wonder what you are!
Up above the world so high,
Like a diamond in the sky.
When the blazing sun is gone,
When he nothing shines upon,
Then you show your little light,
Twinkle, twinkle, all the night.
Then the traveler in the dark
Thanks you for your tiny spark,
How could he see where to go,
If you did not twinkle so?
In the dark blue sky you keep,
Often through my curtains peep
For you never shut your eye,
Till the sun is in the sky.
As your bright and tiny spark
Lights the traveler in the dark,
Though I know not what you are,
Twinkle, twinkle, little star.

For me is
When I was born I was black.
When I was growing up I was black.
When I lay in the sun I am black.
When I am cold I am black.
When I am afraid I am black.
When I am sick I am black.
When I die I am black.
But you my white friend
You were pink when you were born.
You were white when you were growing up.
You are red when you lay in the sun.
You are blue when you are cold.
You are green when you are afraid.
You are yellow when you are sick.
You shall be gray when you die.
How can you call me the colored one
Just for the record I am not black but I have a few black friends
But I hate racism of any kind so tell me what you all thinks about this one

There are quite a few motivational poems - but the one that comes to my mind right now is Galib
One of which says
“ Haathonke lakeeron pey math ja ae Galib..
Naseeb unke b hote hey jinke haath nahi hote hey”
Which means
Don’t decide the luck of someone by the lines on the palm of hand, Ghalib,
Luck is bestowed even on those who don’t have hands.

For me, I do like a poem that I have learned last semester. I like the meaning of this poem so much. The author, Christina, talks about a beloved one who wants to make everything after her death.
This is my favorite poem:
When I am dead, my dearest,
Sing no sad songs for me;
Plant thou no roses at my head,
Nor shady cypress tree:
Be the green grass above me
With showers and dewdrops wet;
And if thou wilt, remember,
And if thou wilt, forget.
I shall not see the shadows,
I shall not feel the rain;
I shall not hear the nightingale
Sing on, as if in pain:
And dreaming through the twilight
That doth not rise nor set,
Haply I may remember,
And haply may forget.

“Sonnet 116,” by William Shakespeare. So many great sonnets could’ve made this list, but this is a favorite of mine. In it, Shakespeare says what love is by examining what it is not. And it finishes on, “If this be error and upon me proved, / I never writ, nor no man ever loved.” (By the way, the link for this sonnet has some interesting analysis under the poem.)

For me, "Carry your heart with me" by E.E. Cummings is the best poem.
I had interpreted it in the last semester, Poem and Poetry class. It's a very sweet poem for me.
I truly believe that if you read it, you will feel good like me. The kind of this poem is free verse poems.

For me, All the world's a stage is the best poem.
This poem is the phrase that begins a monologue from William Shakespeare's pastoral comedy As You Like It, spoken by the melancholy Jaques in Act II Scene VII Line 138. I like it because the speech compares the world to a stage and life to a play and catalogues the seven stages of a man's life, sometimes referred to as the seven ages of man: infant, schoolboy, lover, soldier, justice, Pantalone, and old age, facing imminent death. It is also one of Shakespeare's most frequently quoted passages.

For me, I like Thai poem. I love Thai poem so much because it touched and deeper in meaning. Whenever I read Thai poem my imagination will open endlessly.
And I can feel and see everything clearly even just reading through Thai poem.
