For me, i think expensive and cheap. It depends on shop that they make a price. When i went to Chantaburi durian is not expensive and more delicious than shop in my city.

In my point of you, I think that duriann too expensive because of it is the king of fruit which has good taste and smell.
Some people don't like it because of it's smell but they are very delicious and hard to plant.
Not all kind of place that durian can grow up so that it quite expensive.

I thonk durian is becoming increasingly popular especially in non-durian countries. So the durian-producing countries like Thailand have become major exporters of durian. Due to the high demand and limited production volume, prices are becoming increasingly expensive.

I think it might be because durians have been considered the king of all fruits! It takes lots of time to grow and take care of them! Even so, its smell is really good for some people, but really strong for others! Personally, I can eat and smell it, but I don't usually eat it! This is because of its high cost!

Personally, I think durian can not growth in every area around town or other countries can not growing it .Just only Thai has durian for eat and sell.Moreover, some group of foreign like to eat it a lot . Farmer export it out and gain more income.

Nowadays, durians are so expensive because It is hard to grow. Moreover, growing it takes a long time.
Another reason, a few years ago, the Chinese business invest the trading with Thailand and durian is one of the things in which they are nterested.
So, the gardener tries to sell at a higher price to account for higher per weight shipping costs due to lower volumes.

Personally, I think Thailand was having drought conditions recently so I imagine hot weather + low rainfall = lower yields + higher retail prices. The extreme drought and the heavy rainfall right thereafter, practically ended the durian season before it even started. There is no durian this year that's why they're so overpriced.

I'm not sure about this. It may be just taken long time to take care of durian tree. Or it's highly popular fruit of Thailand.
By the way, I don't like eating durians at all. It has too strong smell for me.

Pretty sure because durians are very hard to grow. It took like 4-5 years to grow into a big tree that can give the offspring. It required a lot of care and effort in order to get those sweet durians.
