How to reject someone nicely?

I think rejecting someone can be almost as hard as getting rejected myself, especially if the person is a friend.
Could you suggest me how to do it kindly to make the whole process easier?

I just try to make a space with him and gradually disappear.
In my opinion, trying to fade away from him by using this way is the best way.
I do not want to tell him directly for fear that he will be hurt.

In my perspective, I would say speak straight forward is the best way to reject someone.
Even rejecting people is very hard, not pretending is a good way for me.
By doing this, that one would accept my decision. They would pay respect to each other.

If I want to reject someone, I will say directly. I think it is the best way to make the others understand me. Although it is a word which makes others upset, I should say about the truth. On the other hand, I may lie others if I think it is safe to me. So, I don't know how to reject someone nicely.

- Accept the fact that you are going to hurt them.

I think you should try to reject people. If you accept, you might do it without happiness.

Sometimes, rejecting people we know is hard. But think about it. If you feel uncomfortable doing something for them, why would you do? I don't this is selfish. I refuse to do something that bothers myself or I am not willing to do by saying "Sorry, I have many works to do right now and I don't think I have time for what you ask." It seems to be so mean, but why would you let people make you feel uncomfortable.

For my idea, you just tell them the truth but you don't have enough confident let try this way. You can say " No, thank you" just say this words then you can deny people. I think this is the effective way you reject people.

I do like this question. Honestly, I personally don't know how to reject and also accept someone. Because I have a problem with showing my own feeling to others directly because I too care for others feelings. Sometimes this behavior can destroy my health particularly my soul.

You may ignore them deliberately that the person would take it as a hint and identify that something is not right. The other person may understand it or would not bother to care about it, and be silent and leave you. If the person comes to you and asks you about it, you may tell them nicely that you are not comfortable to be with them and other reasons that you may have to support your action. However it is gonna be or sound rude, but you can reduce the intensity of the harshness.

For example, if you know that your grandmother is going to try and push her Anzac biscuits on you when you visit, feel free to tell her that the doctor has told you to avoid sugar for a while if you don’t want to hurt her feelings.
