In my opinion, I think Songkran day is Thai New Year Day. In the past, people celebrated this day by going to temple and making a merit. Moreover, splashing water might mean washing the old and bad things from the old year, and cleaning ourselves to gain new things in new year. Nowadays, Songkran has applied many things, it changes a lot about the celebration. By the way, I still do some same things like the past did. Songkran is my favorite festival, I always have fun with it.

It might be for having people to get reunion with their families.
When Songkran comes, I usually go back to my hometown and travel to somewhere with my family.
