I watched this movie for 2 times, once is a movie version and another one is a cartoon Disney version.
My point of view for these two versions, some details in the written version were cut a lot when were being made in movie and cartoon versions.
The best way to criticize this story perfectly, you should re-read  the written version again to understand the dept meaning of each words.

Movie version is fun. I enjoyed with it so I forgot to think about the story, symbol or characters anymore.

Actually, I really have the interested in Alice in wonderland. It happens since I was young.
I firstly have a chance to watch the movie in 2010 and that is not the original story of Alice.
That time I really like the movie, I buy it, and watch the movie several times over and over.
This year I have a chance to learn about the original story of Alice by Lewis Carroll in children literature course and realise that the story has something deeper in itself, much more than I use to know.

I prefer watching before reading. After the movie is over, then I read its story in the book.
That makes me understand its plot better than only reading.
