What do you think about buffalo? Are they stupid?

For me I do like buffalo.
And I don't know why most people mention buffalo is stupid.
I consider that buffalo is so important especially for farmer.
They use it in the field for growing rice; rice is main course of Thai people.
So, that's why buffalo is so important

In my opinion, I think buffaloes are not stupid, it's just comparison about the slave animals.
buffaloes are the most important animals for agriculture which are related to farmer since the past.

Besides, they have been a faithful friend for farmers for ages, since the beginning of when rice cultivation was introduced, maybe?
They can do many things that I do not think I will be capable of, such as moving the cart, having lots of heavy things on my back, carrying stuff, and of course, helping farmers to get rice for us to eat.

I sometimes think that buffalo is quite cute, but I don't like them because of their smell.
I don't know whether they are stupid or not. It's a folktale that buffalo was assigned by some of gods to tell human something.
And then buffalo forgot what to tell human. So, buffalo was punished and was sent to the world and work hard with human.
I have heard this story when I was young. It's a folktale from somewhere.

I think buffalos are really cute. Personally, the animal is innocent and adorable. They live their lives by the instinct of an animal like the other creature on Earth. My guess is that it came from this Thai proverb สีซอให้ควายฟัง which translates to "play the fiddle for the buffalo to hear", meaning that whatever it is you're saying, it'll fall on deaf ears because the other party won't listen (too stupid to understand).
