The important thing to protect the skin from the sunshine on Songkran Day is to apply a lot of sunscreen and apply it every 4-5 hours. And try to drink plenty of clean water. These things will help your skin not to lose from sunlight.

You should wear light long sleeve shirt and long pants to protect your skin.
And don't forget to apply sunscreen on every inches of your skin.
I think it's better to splash water in the shade.

I never get tan in Sonkran festival, although I have attended this festival several days.
The techniques are applying too much sunscreen and wearing dark long sleeve shirt and a cap.
Moreover, don't forget to apply sunscreen on you feet as well.

To be honest, I have no idea to deal with this issue because I hardly to go outside during festival.
If I take part in this featival, I will apply a lot of sunscreen lotion to protect my skin from sunlight.
I will apply it as much as possible. Moreover, I have to avoid the outdoor place such as on the road.
After getting burnt, I would apply aloe vera gel to repair my skin.

My suggestion is to apply sunscreen regularly.
Everyone should use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.
You should apply it every few hours while going outside for your Songkran.
You should also reapply after you've been in the water.

Apply sunscreen regularly before you go out into the sun.
If possible, avoid the strongest sunlight of the day.
Simply staying in the shade between 11am. and 4pm.
These are the best ways to limit your UV exposure.

The gold standard for sun protection is to seek shade.
Avoiding direct sun exposure and staying in the shade is the best way to limit UV exposure.
This is especially true during the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. , when the sun is most intense.
